Alabama Crimson Tide vs LSU Tigers Odds, Prediction, and Pick
Half of the college football fans out there love this match-up, and the other half absolutely hate it. Many college football fans thought that Oklahoma State deserved to be playing in this BCS National Championship game over Alabama, since Bama' already lost once this year to LSU, and Oklahoma State was in one of the toughest conferences in all of college football. Regardless of what everyone thinks or wants, we get to see the rematch here of the two top teams in the SEC. LSU and Alabama will play what should be one of the best National Championships in recent years, mainly because of the excellent defenses of both sides. LSU comes into this game with a record of 13-0, and 8-0 in conference play, while Alabama was 11-1 overall, and 7-1 in conference play. You have to love a match-up between number one and two in the entire country, and this game will kick off on Monday, January 9th at 8:30pm.

Let's start with LSU, who was just incredibly impressive straight through this year. In total, they beat eight ranked teams, and that includes Alabama, a team in Oregon who just won a big bowl game against Wisconsin, and Arkansas who was ranked 3rd at the time that they beat them. This team was excellent all over the board, by pretty much dominating every top 25 team that they played with the exception of their 9-6 win over Bama. Les Miles is one of the best coaches in the country, but he'll have his work cut out for him and his team as they are up against a team who they already beat, and who will be gunning for them on Monday night.
As far as Alabama and head coach Nick Saban go, you can bet that they'll be prepared for this game. This team won't forget about that tough loss on the road, that's for sure. Look for running back Trent Richardson to help lead the charge here for this team, as he tallied up a total of 1,583 yards, and 20 touchdowns rushing, and even threw on 3 rushing touchdowns for good measure. Don't sleep on the Crimson Tide, who knocked off four teams in the top 25 themselves, and have put together quite an impressive resume on their way to this 11 win season.

It's tough not to think that the Crimson Tide are going to show up big in this game, and I definitely think that they will. Unfortunately though, I think that LSU is going to play just a bit bigger, and be the same dominant force as they have been all year. LSU has been a favorite to win the BCS Championship from the point that they started putting on their first few impressive blowout wins, and I think that Les Miles gets it done. The real reason that I see for this game going to LSU is the fact that their offense is very solid, and I think that their defense will be able to give quarterback AJ McCarron fits back in the pocket. I'll take the Tigers to win it by a field goal and continue the streak of close bowl games this season.

It's no shocker here that the point spread on this game is incredibly close, but many people are slightly surprised that the Crimson Tide are favored. This game is essentially a pick though, and I think that the LSU Tigers go 2-0 against their most important opponent this year, Alabama. I like it to be a close game, and I think that it will be a bit more high scoring than last time, but I'm going to pick the LSU Tigers to get the win and cover the +1. On top of that, I'll be betting them on the money line with the odds to win the game as well.
- Pick: LSU Tigers +1
