Baltimore Ravens vs Jacksonville Jaguars Odds, Prediction, and Pick

Monday Night Football betting strikes again, and this time we have the Baltimore Ravens traveling to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags have struggled to get attendance up in recent years, but maybe a Monday Night game can help drew in some fans. These two teams have been heading in different directions this season though. One team seems to bet set at almost every position across the board, and is sitting at 4-1, while the other team is 1-5 and struggling all over the place. The Ravens are widely considered by most to be serious Super Bowl contenders this year, and the Jaguars are in the midst of a rebuilding year and are being led by a rookie quarterback in Blaine Gabbert. Now these two teams meet in what should be an excellent NFL betting option in week 7 of the season.

The Ravens have been led by the strong play of Ray Rice. While Rice has been great running the ball this year, he has also been an excellent receiver out of the backfield as well. Joe Flacco also has had some very strong games, and the Ravens are currently sitting atop the AFC North. The Jaguars are a bit of a different story, as they have currently lost five games in a row after starting off the season with a 16-14 win over the Tennessee Titans. Since that point, the Jags have only topped 13 points one time, and have struggled all around. This match-up kicks off at 8:35pm EST, and is ESPN's Monday Night Football match-up of course.

As much as many fans in the NFL want this game to be a close one, this one will be an incredibly tough spot for the Jaguars. They have a rookie quarterback who will be matched up against one of the stronger defenses out there, and a team all around who likes to play on prime time television. Expect the Ravens to overcome the crowd noise in Jacksonville pretty quickly, and jump out all over the Jaguars. I see this one turning a bit ugly in the second half, with Ray Rice running wild against the Jags defense, and Joe Flacco putting up some big numbers as well. I like the Ravens to win by two touchdowns or more.

I was a bit surprised to see that this line was only -7.5. I think that if this wasn't a prime time game that it would be Baltimore -9 or -9.5, and if it was played in Baltimore, this line could have gotten a bit crazy. I don't think it will matter which stadium they play in when all is said and done, as I think that the Ravens are just an all around better team than the Jaguars; and I think they are better than them by more than 7.5 points. I'm picking the Baltimore Ravens to win and cover the 7.5 here as well.
