We'll just a little over a week away from the fourth and final major of the 2011 season on the PGA Tour. The 2011 PGA Championship is set to take place from Thursday, August 11th to Sunday, August 14th, 2011. The event will take place at the Highlands Course, Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek, Georgia. Last year's champion is Martin Kaymer, who comes in with odds of 25/1 to repeat on his big win last year. The favorite heading into the final major of the year, is Rory McIlroy with odds of 10/1 to win the event. We're going to take a look at a few players (with odds) who we think have a good shot to take down the 2011 PGA Championship. Let's get it underway.
» Rory McIlroy
Let's start with the favorite shall we? Rory had an incredible win earlier this year at the US Open, and we're looking for McIlroy to come in at the top of the leader board once again here. McIlroy did struggle a bit at the British Open, but should do much better at the Atlanta Athletic Club. Rory comes in with odds of 10 to 1 (bet $10 to win $100) for the 2011 PGA Championship.

» Phil Mickelson
Phil is another big name heading into the event, and played incredibly well at the British Open all the way through until he hit the back nine. This course should do a lot for Mickelson, and should give him quite a good chance to take down the event. Mickelson is currently in 4th place when it comes to the FedEx regular season points. His odds to win the 2011 PGA Championship are currently 12 to 1 (bet $10 to win $120).
» Luke Donald
Donald is excellent at keeping the ball on the fairway, and while he may not be the most powerful golfer out there; he does a lot of things very well. Donald is one of the best players on the Tour at getting out of bad situations and being able to save par in those spots. He is currently right behind Mickelson on the FedEx regular season points, and is sitting in 5th place. The odds for Luke Donald to win the 2011 PGA Championship are 15 to 1 (bet $10 to win $150).
» Lee Westwood
Westwood has yet to win that major championship, and is one of the best players in the game that has yet to do that. Since back in 2008 he has posted six top 3 finishes in major events, but has yet to be able to get over that hump. Look for Westwood to be near the top in this one once again in the 2011 PGA Championship. His current odds of taking down the event are 12 to 1 (bet $10 to win $120).
» The Underdogs
» Nick Watney
Watney has been on fire lately, and has two wins this season with eight top 10 finishes. He hasn't been able to get the big win in a major yet, but is considered to be one of the young players who is on the rise. Watney posted a fourth place finish at The Player's Championship this year, and is one of the best putters out of anyone in the game currently. He currently sits at the top of the FedEx point rankings as well. The odds on Watney to take down the 2011 PGA Championship are currently 30 to 1 (bet $10 to win $300), making him our top underdog pick.
» Dustin Johnson
Dustin Johnson can drive the ball incredibly well, and was doing well in terms of his standings at the British Open, but was unable to finish the deal. An interesting stat on Johnson is that he is currently second on the PGA Tour in terms of birdies made, and is a top 15 player in terms of greens in regulation. Johnson is one of the biggest sleepers in some people's minds, and should be near the top of the leader board throughout the 2011 PGA Championship. His current odds are 20 to 1 (bet $10 to win $200).
