Boston Celtics vs. San Antonio Spurs Odds, Prediction, and Pick

This coming Saturday we have an interesting match-up between two teams who have some of the stronger players in the NBA, as Rajon Rondo, Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett are heading on the road to take on Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, and the San Antonio Spurs. Through the beginning of the week, the Celtics are sitting with an 11-9 record, while the Spurs have a very nice 17-4 record, and are looking once again like one of the stronger teams in the NBA. The team has been led by strong all around play, and they are 7-2 on their home court this season as well. Tip off is set for 8:30pm EST.

The Celtics are led their young point guard Rondo, who was recently suspended two games for starting up a brawl between himself, his teammates, and the Brooklyn Nets. His suspension drew a ton of interest from the NBA fans, but now that he's back he's doing what he did before he was out. Rondo is probably the best passing point guard in the NBA, and he's done a great job of opening things up for players like Pierce and Garnett.

On the other side, the Spurs are just rolling along. They have not only won four straight games, but in their last ten starting up this current week they are 9-1. You can bet that quite a few teams in the NBA don't look forward to having to play the Spurs, as those "old" guys over there, are playing some great basketball. Tim Duncan is one of the most consistent players in the NBA, and with Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker playing on top of their game, it makes them hard to beat. Don't sleep on the Spurs this season as serious contenders.

This is going to be a big game for both sides, but with the Spurs playing on their home court, that is going to make a big difference. San Antonio is a great team, but they are definitely strong on their home court as well. Going into the Garden and playing the Celtics would be a bit of a different story, but I'm not sold that the Celtics are going to be able to go on the road and beat the Spurs in this game. I'm going with the Spurs to win it by eight when all is said and done.
