Denver Broncos vs. New York Giants Week 2 NFL Pick
What a way that was to open the season for Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos. With an NFL record-tying 7 touchdown passes last Thursday, Manning put all questions regarding his health, his age, and his chemistry with newly acquired slot receiver Wes Welker to bed. The Broncos offense as a whole simply picked apart the defense of the defending Super Bowl Champion Baltimore Ravens. Manning's 462 yards through the air was impressive, and so were his 7 touchdown passes.
However his biggest asset in this game is his supporting cast. The cast consists of Welker, Demaryius Thomas, Julius Thomas, and Knowshon Moreno. The more weapons Manning has, the better chance he has at unleashing an explosive offense like we saw in the 2nd half of the season opening game last Thursday. The Broncos are 12-1 straight up in their last 13 games, and 5-0 straight up in their last 5 games on the road. They are 3-1 ATS in their last 4 games against the Giants, while outscoring them 24-17 on average in those 4 games.

Eli Manning had an up and down game in Dallas last week. He was certainly not at fault for all 6 Giants' turnovers, however his lack of a trusted running game and lack of pass protection from his backfield may be his demise this Sunday. It has been well documented that David Wilson fumbled twice last week, and thus was once again benched and placed in Head Coach Tom Coughlin's dog house. Manning was then forced to put the ball in the air on almost all of the 2nd half plays run by the Giants, which explains his 450 passing yards.

However, a chunk of that was in the last 2 minutes when Dallas was simply playing deep coverage and letting Eli have everything underneath. Eli is really going to have to do something special against his brother this week, or it could be another long Sunday for the G-men. The Giants are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games against Denver, and 2-4 ATS in their last 6 games overall. Take Peyton and the Broncos this week to cover against brother Eli and the Giants.
