Buffalo Bills vs Cincinnati Bengals Odds, Prediction, Pick

We've been through an interesting three weeks of the 2011 NFL season, and week 4 should be one of the most interesting, as it features some excellent match-ups throughout the league. One match-up that we're going to look at is between two teams who most people wouldn't have imagined before the season that they would be involved in a big time game. The Buffalo Bills who are sitting at 3-0 are taking on the Cincinnati Bengals who are at 1-2. The Bills have been one of the most surprising teams in the NFL, as they are fresh off of an upset against the New England Patriots. While the Bengals are at 1-2, they took down the Cleveland Browns 27-17 in week 1, and have lost their past two games by a total of seven points. The Bengals and Bills were both projected to be at the bottom of the league by the end of the season, but it looks as though the Bills may have turned the corner, and that the Bengals may not be in as much of a "rebuilding" mode as everyone said they were.

The Bills and Bengals could feature a match-up between two strong running backs in Fred Jackson and Cedric Benson. In my mind though, I see the major factors in the game being the passing games and pass defenses of both teams. The Bills have a very strong passing game with Ryan Fitzpatrick, and their pass defense has been strong so far, as they intercepted quarterback Tom Brady four times last week. The Bengals on the other hand have a rookie quarterback in Andy Dalton, who has looked well at times; but could struggle against this upgraded Buffalo defense. I think this one will be a very interesting match-up, and it will kick off 1:00pm EST.

The Bills have shocked quite a few people so far this season, and I think they'll be riding a wave of emotion heading into this game. The Bills are on the road in this game, but I don't think it'll make a difference, as Ryan Fitzpatrick is playing at the top of his game currently. I like the Bills to take this one down by a touchdown in the end, even though I do think that the Bengals will hang around at least through the first half.

I was a bit surprised when I saw that this line was only -3 for the Bills, especially after the big time upset that they just had against the Bills. The Bengals have looked much better than expected to this point, and have been led by running back Cedric Benson. If the Bengals want to stay in this game they'll need quite a bit of help from the passing game, but I don't think it'll be enough in the end. I'm picking the Buffalo Bills to not only win this one, but also cover the -3.
