2012 Grey Cup Final Betting: Calgary Stampeders vs Toronto Argonauts Pick, Prediction, and Odds
The 2012 Canadian Football League is officially down to the best two teams left in the league. With that being said, the 2012 Grey Cup Final is set to kick off on Sunday evening at 6:05pm, and it will be played at the home field of the Toronto Argonauts, who are interestingly playing in this game. The home field advantage in this game is definitely interesting, but they are going to be up against a tough Calgary Stampeders team. The Canadian Football League is played just a bit differently than the NFL or College Football for those who don't know, as there are only three downs, 12 players on each side, and the field is 110 yards long. If you miss a field goal you are still going to get one point as well, which is another difference.
Now, for the two sides, the Calgary Stampeders finished in second place in the West with a 12-6 record overall. They had a tough road to get to the Grey Cup Final though, as they had to beat last years champion B.C. last week. They were led by an Iowa Hawkeye to start this season in Drew Tate, but Tate went down to an injury to start the playoffs and they've been riding along without him since then. Their back-up had an excellent game against B.C. though, and it is Kevin Glenn who came from Illinois State. The player that many people will be watching on Calgary's side though is Jon Cornish, who is likely to win the CFL's Most Outstanding Player this season, and he'll need a big game to hlep out Calgary on Sunday.

The Argonauts on the other side played in a much weaker East Division and finished with just a 9-9 record. They won a huge game against one of the best teams in the CFL last week in Montreal to get to where they are right now. They are led by Ricky Ray from Sacramento State, who already has two Grey Cup wins under his belt back in 2003 and 2005. Ray definitely has the experience under his belt, but the Argonauts have been up and down at times, and they are really a tough team to figure, which makes the home field advantage they have in this one very important to them.

These two sides have met twice this year, and Toronto was actually able to win both games. I'm not reading into that too much though honestly, as the level of intensity that is going to come along with this game is going to be at a different level. This spread says a lot about the game, as I think that Calgary has played a much tougher division and obviously has a better record, but they've also knocked off two very tough teams in the playoffs as well. Calgary is a well coached team and I think that they are going to come out ready to get redemption, I'm taking the Stampeders by three.
Pick: Calgary Stampeders -1.5
