NBA Playoff Betting: Denver Nuggets vs Los Angeles Lakers Pick, Prediction, and Odds
With the 2012 NBA Playoff schedules officially set, one game that caught my eye on Sunday, April 29th is the match-up between the Denver Nuggets and the Los Angeles Lakers. Both teams have some serious talent on their rosters this year, and I think this series could be a great one. Any time we have Kobe Bryant in a series though you should be prepared to see some great basketball all around. The Nuggets have been solid this year though, and come into this game as the 6th seed, while the Lakers were able to earn the 3rd seed by holding off the Memphis Grizzlies and Los Angeles Clippers, both of which made a push on the Lakers late in the season for their spot.

The Lakers ended the year with an overall record of 41-25, while the Nuggets were 38-28. As you all know, the Lakers will be without one of their best defenders and most aggressive players in Metta World Peace after the brutal elbow that he threw into James Harden's head late last week. The team will now need to rely heavily on their two big men in Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol, and of course their superstar in Kobe Bryant in order to get through this scrappy Denver Nuggets squad. The Nuggets have a strong point guard in Ty Lawson, but also have strong shooters in Danilo Gallinari and Arron Afflalo. One of the match-ups that I'm interested in though will feature Gasol against the youngster inside for the Nuggets in Kenneth Faried, who has been a beast on the boards this year.
Tip off for this game is set for 3:30pm EST on Sunday the 29th, and the game will be televised on ABC, so make sure that you don't miss this one!

The Lakers were absolutely awesome on their home court this year, which plays a huge factor into my decision on the outcome of this game. While I think that the Nuggets are talented enough to take a game or two from the Lakers in this series, I would be shocked if it came in game one in the Staples Center. I'm expecting a big showing from Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon, and I think that Kobe Bryant is going to look like Kobe Bryant, which spells trouble for the Nuggets. Also, look for Andrew Bynum to have a huge game as well as the Nuggets could struggle to find a way to slow down the All-Star center. I'm going with the Lakers by seven.
Prediction: Los Angeles Lakers- 99 Denver Nuggets- 92

Expect the Lakers to be favored by a few points at home, and I'm assuming it'll be something around four or five. If I see that Los Angeles is only a small favorite then I'll definitely be getting my bet down on the Lakers before game time on Sunday! I can't see the Lakers being favored by more than seven, but if they are then I'll be going the other way.
Pick: Los Angeles Lakers -335
