Houston Rockets vs. Los Angeles Lakers Odds, Prediction, and Pick
On Sunday, November 18th we have two interesting teams going at it in Los Angeles at 9:30pm EST. The Houston Rockets are heading on the road to take on the Lakers, and one of the interesting back stories here is that this will be the first game that new head coach Mike D'Antoni is going to be coaching for the Lakers. It's going to be interesting to see how this offense does under D'Antoni. The Rockets are a new look team as well, as they've added Jeremy Lin and James Harden this offseason, and the two moves have been big ones for the team. The Rockets are sitting with a 4-4 record through Thursday night, while the Lakers are sitting at 3-5 overall after a brutal start to the season that saw their head coach get fired.

The Rockets have won two of the last three through Thursday, with their only loss coming against the defending NBA Champion Miami Heat. They've played strong basketball, and many people feel like there's a chance that Harden could actually end up making a push on leading the NBA in scoring. The biggest question is about the other scoring outside of Harden, and that has actually been the question with the Rockets throughout the entire season thus far.
For the Lakers, they made some major moves this offseason to land Dwight Howard and Steve Nash, making their starting lineup Howard, Nash, Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, and Metta World Peace. Los Angeles has the talent, and they've gotten back to their winning ways after parting ways with Mike Brown. The new offense under Mike D'Antoni will definitely feature some learning times, but overall it should be a great fit for this group of players, and it'll get started on Sunday in Los Angeles.

It's a tough game to call, but with the emotion and noise that will be going down in Los Angeles, I think that home court advantage could be in full effect on Sunday evening. The Lakers are going to have their new offense which will take some time to pick up, but the talent that's on this team should be able to get D'Antoni his first win as the Lakers head coach right off the bat. Look for Kobe Bryant to have a big game, and for the Lakers to get a nice win by eight at home against a young up and coming Houston Rockets team who has a bright future.
Prediction: Los Angeles Lakers- 97 Houston Rockets- 89
