India vs England Second ODI Preview, Prediction, and Pick
After a stunning game of cricket in Rajkot, India and England move to Kochi for second ODI between them. It was a fabulous display of cricket in first ODI where players from both the teams stood out. England emerged victorious, but by a small margin. India would be looking to bounce back in the series in the ODI to be held on 15th January 2013. England hasn't won an ODI series in India in past many years and they'd be looking to inch closer to their target by winning this match.

England performed better than expected in their first ODI and all their players at the top order looked in good form, thanks to flat deck of Rajkot. Kochi pitch would be different and bowling would come into play. England spinners, unexpectedly, outclassed Indian batsmen and were excellent. Samit Patel was excellent at the end, and that's what made all the difference.

India too got an excellent start with Rahane and Gambhir. It was only that Virat Kohli didn't meet the expectations. Yuvraj scored a quickfire half century, but wasn't able to carry after that. Indian batsmen repeated the same mistake of past by getting in and then getting out. MS Dhoni hit four big ones before getting caught at long off. After that it was too much for the lower order batsmen like Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ravichandran Ashwin. Ishant Sharma was thrashed all over the park in his final overs. Indian death bowling faltered again. Jadeja looked only bowler to trouble English batsmen.

Although Indian batsmen repeated the same mistake of getting in and getting out, they looked to be confident about their shots and footwork than recent past. England is a bowler short and it is just a matter of time before Indian batsmen take the attack to their spinners. Without Swann, Anderson and Broad, English bowling attack is inexperienced. Although India lost the first match, there was nothing to separate between the sides. This match too is expected to be a nail-biting encounter. Without ruling out the other possibilities, I think India would bounce back to make it one each.
» Man of the Match Prediction
Many batsmen got going on a batting friendly wicket in Rajkot. One man who was taking the bowlers out ruthlessly was Yuvraj Singh. He bats well and flamboyantly, bows well and is a good fielder too. He is my choice for Man of the Match award.
