Kansas City Chiefs vs New England Patriots Odds, Prediction, and Pick
Monday Night Football! This week we have a game between two teams who each were peaking between week's four and six, as they were both riding three game winning streaks. This was not able to last for either of them though, as the Patriots went on to lose two games in a row, and the Chiefs have now lost two games in a row going into this week. Fortunately for New England, they were able to get out of their slump in a massive win last week against their biggest rival in the New York Jets. The Pats high powered offense seems to be back in full affect, and if they continue to put up big points like they did last week, this game could be a long one for the Chiefs. An interesting note about this game is what was set to be a match-up between the Chiefs' quarterback Matt Cassel and the team who traded him there. Unfortunately, we won't get to see that match-up though, as Cassel had to have surgery this past week and will miss the remainder of the season.

This injury to Cassel just about spells out the Chiefs season to this point. The have now lost four big time starters in Cassel, running back Jamaal Charles, safety Eric Berry, and tight end Tony Moeaki all to injuries throughout just this year. After Kansas City lost Charles, Berry, and Moeaki, they seemed to have figured it figured out still, and many thought that they could potentially make a playoff push still. Now, if they want to get that job done they'll be doing it without Cassel, and instead with quarterback Tyler Palko, who will get his first NFL start. This game kicks off at 8:35pm EST, and will be played in New England on Monday night.

The Chiefs are in for a long night in this game. Tom Brady and Bill Belichick don't let up on anyone, and I don't expect them to do so against an over matched Chiefs team at home. Tyler Palko and the Chiefs will need to play the best football that they've played all year in order to compete here, and I can't see it happening quite that way. I like the Patriots to get the job done at home, and to do it in a big way. I'm seeing at least a three touchdown win for the team who is currently leading the AFC East.

I'm not shocked to see the Chiefs as +14.5 point underdogs on the road, but I am shocked that the Patriots aren't getting a bit more love. While their defense hasn't been stellar at times, their offense has done more than enough to make up for it. The Pats defense really won't be in the story in this one, as they will be more than capable to hold off this Chiefs depleted offense. I'm picking the New England Patriots to get the cover here.
