Kansas City Chiefs vs. Oakland Raiders, Odds, Prediction, and Pick

We continue our push towards the weekend, and NFL week 7; and we take a look at one of the best NFL betting match-ups out there this week. In this match-up, the 2-3 Kansas City Chiefs will head to take on one of their most hated divisional rivals, in the 4-2 Oakland Raiders. Both of these teams have been in the news a bit this year, as the Kansas City Chiefs have suffered some tough losses from injury in players like Eric Berry and Jamaal Charles; and the Raiders are one of the hottest topics in the NFL currently as they are fresh off of the addition of quarterback Carson Palmer, just 2 days after they lost their starting quarterback Jason Campbell to injury. The Chiefs came into the 2011 season with quite a bit of hype as they are coming off of a 10-6 record in 2010, but things just haven't gone to plan, as they started off the season by losing three games in a row. The Chiefs have now won two games back to back, but they are against two teams from the bottom of the standings in the Minnesota Vikings and the Indianapolis Colts. The Raiders on the other hand have actually been one of the surprises of the league this year, as they have beaten some good teams so far, and their two losses come against two of the teams with the best records currently, in the Bills and the Patriots.

This game is one that will fly under the radar to some NFL fans, but it should be an excellent all around game. The Raiders have a great shot to take down a fairly weak AFC West, and knocking off the Chiefs would put them in a good direction towards doing that. While the Chiefs have won two games in a row, they haven't been incredibly impressive overall. While the Raiders were faced with some tough news as they lost their quarterback Jason Campbell, back-up Kyle Boller looked solid. But if newly acquired Carson Palmer is ready to go, he'll be the man to take over in front of a crowd that is sure to bring some noise. I like the Raiders at home here to win this one by a touchdown.

The Raiders are currently only 3.5 point favorites due to the quarterback situation there. Fortunately for Oakland though, I don't think it will be a problem in the end, and whoever takes the helm will take what is given to them and have more than a strong enough game to get the win. The real story in this game will be Darren McFadden, who I expect to run all over this Chiefs defense that is beaten up. I'm picking the Oakland Raiders to get the win and cover the spread of 3.5

  • Pick: Oakland Raiders -3.5
