Liverpool vs. Arsenal Odds, Prediction, and Pick
To kick off the Barclays Premier League matches for March, we have an incredibly interesting one between Liverpool and Arsenal on the first Saturday of the month, the 3rd. The game will be played in Anfield, which means that Liverpool will be the hosts, and this game should be quite the shootout between two top seven teams. Currently, Arsenal finds themselves in a battle with Chelsea to maintain one of the top four spots in the league with 43 points, and Liverpool finds themselves in seventh place with 39 points. Obviously a win against Arsenal would go a long way towards helping them progress up the table, but it won't come easy.

Liverpool has put together a record of 10 wins, 9 draws, and 6 losses this season through 25 games, while Arsenal comes in with a record that includes 13 wins, 4 draws, and 8 losses. Arsenal's goal differential is twice as good as Liverpool's currently though, as they are sitting at +13, while Liverpool is +6 overall. While there are quite a few players to watch in this game, as both teams boast impressive lineups, one player that everyone will have their eye on is the star striker for Arsenal, Robin Van Persie. Van Persie has been dominant in scoring 22 goals this season, and Liverpool will need an incredible defensive effort in order to hold him back. Liverpool has quite a bit of talent on their side as well, as they are led by Craig Bellamy, Andrew Carroll, and Steven Gerrard. Also, don't overlook the addition of Thierry Henry back to Arsenal during his offseason from the MLS as well!

I'm incredibly excited for this game for quite a few reasons, but one of them is because there could be a TON on the line when this game happens in early March. I think that Arsenal is definitely the more talented team, but Liverpool is the home team here. While I think that Liverpool is going to put up quite a match against Arsenal on their home pitch, I think the outcome is going to result in a draw. Arsenal's talent against the fact that Liverpool at home turns into a draw for me, and I'm going to give both sides one point for the draw, and take the nice odds as well.

The odds on the draw are nice, but that's not the only reason I'm going with this pick of course! Both teams have gone back and forth between looking very solid, and showing that they have some weak spots as well. I think that both teams are going to come out strong, and in the end a draw seems fitting, and is really what I expect the outcome of this game to be. I'll be betting on a draw on Saturday.
