NBA Playoff Series Preview and Pick: Miami Heat vs Indiana Pacers
With the 2012 NBA Playoffs officially into the second round now, it's time to look at one of the most intriguing series' that is currently going on. This would be the second seed in the Eastern Conference in the Miami Heat against the third seed, the Indiana Pacers. Many people wrote off the Pacers before they even got to this point because of the talent that the Heat have and the fact that they have Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh. Also, taking into consideration the fact that they are the favorites to win the championship, most figured that the Pacers were all but finished after the second round. This isn't quite the case though, as the Heat have now lost Bosh to an injury, and the Pacers were able to steal Game 2 from the Heat on their own floor. This has set up quite the series and one that will get a ton of hype and quite a bit of air time on ESPN in the coming week or so as well.

The Heat are the favorites to win it all, but they definitely aren't the fan favorites. If you are one of the anti-Lebron James NBA fans then you are probably incredibly excited about the fact that the Pacers evened up the series at one game a piece, but they still have a ton of work to do. While it's unknown if or when Bosh will return to action, the Heat still have James and Wade, as well as some solid pieces to go along with them in Mario Chalmers, Mike Miller, and Shane Battier. In order to advance in this series, the Heat are going to need to get some more production from their other big men inside such as Udonis Haslem, Joel Anthony, and Ronny Turiaf. They could struggle against the solid inside game for the Pacers of Roy Hibbert and David West, so it'll be something to watch.

Now for the Indiana Pacers. There's just something about this team that leads me to think that they may be able to upset the favorites here. They have a solid all around team with strong players like Hibbert and West, as well as Danny Granger, Paul George, George Hill, Darren, Collision, and Leandro Barbosa just to name a few. The Pacers can really do it all from shooting threes to driving to get offensive rebounds, but they just don't have a major superstar such as James or Wade on their side. That may factor in here though as there could be some close games down the stretch and they'll definitely need someone to step up in crunch time.
This is going to be one heck of a series moving forward, and while I think that the Pacers are going to put some serious pressure on James, Wade, and the Heat, I think that Miami is going to make it out of this one, but barely. I like it to go to seven games and for the Heat to win it on their home floor in a close Game 7 that will leave Miami fans wiping the sweat from their brow.
Pick: Miami Heat in 7 Games
