San Diego Chargers vs Kansas City Chiefs Odds, Prediction, and Pick
In this week's NFL Monday Night Football match-up, the San Diego Chargers travel to Kansas City to take on their division rivals, the Chiefs. The Chiefs held off the Chargers last year in the AFC West to win the divisional title and represent the West in the playoffs. This year, the Chargers are sitting on top currently with a 4-2 record, while the Chiefs are close behind at 3-3. The Chiefs actually had a very tough start to the season though, as they were 0-3 and have currently won three games in a row to get to the point where they are at now. Just before their three game win streak though, these two teams actually matched up in San Diego with the Chargers coming out with a 20-17 win. While the team has won three in a row, their competition hasn't been the toughest, as they beat the Vikings, Colts, and the Raiders (who were in the midst of the Kyle Boller/Carson Palmer decision). The Chargers on the other hand haven't beaten the strongest of competition either, as they have beaten the Vikings, Broncos, Dolphins, and the Chiefs; and only one of those teams is currently above .500. Their two losses came against the Patriots and Jets, proving that this team still has some work to do to get into the top class of the NFL.

This game kicks off on Monday at 8:35pm EST, and will feature a match-up between two quarterbacks who have shuffled between looking great and looking bad at times this season. Philip Rivers for the Chargers is either throwing incredibly impressive passes, or throwing very bad interceptions; while Matt Cassel has made a habit out of either having great games, or very bad games. Which quarterbacks will show up for their teams this Monday?

Both of these teams have some major issues that need fixed, and both of them have strong points that will cause the opponent problems. One of the biggest issues though will be the fact that Chiefs' safety Eric Berry is out to injury, which should make for a big game for Chargers' tight end Antonio Gates. The Chiefs also lost starting running back Jamaal Charles for the season as well, and I'm not sure if back-up's Jackie Battle, Thomas Jones, and Dexter McCluster will be able to do enough to beat out this Chargers team. I see this game being close, but the Chargers pulling out a narrow win in the end.

The sports betting line on this one is interesting, and I see this divisional rivalry being very close. I'd be shocked to see either team win the game by more than a touchdown, and I know that the Chiefs fans are going to be fired up for Monday Night Football against the Chargers. I like the Chiefs to keep it close and lose on a late field goal here. So I'm picking the Kansas City Chiefs to get the cover on the +3.5.
