San Francisco 49ers vs. Atlanta Falcons Playoff Preview, Prediction and Pick
While we recently took a look at the big match-up in the AFC Championship game, we absolutely have to look at a game that has just as much hype, if not more. This game is of course the NFC Championship game in which the new look San Francisco 49ers with quarterback Colin Kaepernick are heading on the road to take on the Atlanta Falcons. This game has the potential to see a whole lot of points put on the board, especially with that new style of offense that San Francisco plays, which will be up against the strong passing game of the Atlanta Falcons. Kickoff for the NFC Championship game is going to be at 3:00pm EST, and with the Falcons holding the number one seed the game is in Atlanta.
The 49ers offense is just completely different than what it was with Alex Smith running the show. Smith did a great job of managing the game for the 49ers offense, but the addition of Colin Kaepernick has just put them on a different level right now. The 49ers outscored and outplayed the Green Bay Packers last weekend to get to the NFC Championship game, and even though they are going across the country for this game, they will be able to keep pace with the Falcons offense. To top it off, the 49ers still have that impressive defense as well.

The Falcons have some serious play makers, but they need to make sure that Matt Ryan can avoid making mistakes, and also hit the open player consistently. The 49ers defense is going to be able to pressure Ryan and this is going to make his life tough back there. I expect Jacquizz Rodgers to play big part in the passing game as well, and he could end up being a difference maker for this Falcons offense. The real question is if the Falcons defense will be able to slow down Kaepernick and the Niners' offense.

The Falcons get some love for being on their home field, but after almost losing that big lead last game against the Seattle Seahawks, many people are doubting their ability to win this big game in the NFC Championship. I don't think that the Falcons defense is going to be able to slow down San Francisco and their offense enough to be able to win this game. With that being said though, I do expect the Falcons offense to put some points on the board and keep up with the 49ers for a good bit of the game. When all is said and done I'm taking the 49ers to win by a field goal.
Prediction: San Francisco 49ers- 31 Atlanta Falcons- 28
Pick: Atlanta Falcons +4
