NFL 2013 Super Bowl Bets: Baltimore Ravens vs. San Francisco 49ers Preview, Prediction and Pick

This coming Sunday we have the big game in the NFL, as the Baltimore Ravens, the shocking four seed out of the AFC are going against the second seed in the NFC in the San Francisco 49ers. While the game itself is a massive one, the fact that we have two brothers going head to head in this match-up makes it even more interesting. John and Jim Harbaugh have done excellent jobs of leading their teams to this point, as the Ravens have wins over the Indianapolis Colts, and on the road against two powerhouses in the Denver Broncos and the New England Patriots. On the other side the 49ers knocked off two big time teams in the Green Bay Packers and the Atlanta Falcons to get here. Kickoff for the game this Sunday is at 6:30pm EST in New Orleans.

The Ravens were propelled by the news that Ray Lewis was going to be retiring after this postseason. It's almost like they simply haven't wanted the year to end for him, but no matter what this will be his last game. What better way to go out would there be then to win the Super Bowl? The Ravens have been led by a defense playing on top of their game and getting stops when they need them the most, and an offense with Joe Flacco and Ray Rice that is putting major points on the board. Flacco has been a nice surprise leading his team on some huge scoring drives at the biggest of times.

The 49ers on the other side are being led by their own young core of players, and that especially includes Colin Kaepernick. Kaepernick took over as the starter during the season when Alex Smith suffered an injury, and has just been a spark for this team. He can get it done both through the air and with his legs as well, making him a seriously scary option on offense. On top of that, young wide out Michael Crabtree has excelled since Kaepernick took over at wide receiver, and I'm expecting to hear both of their names quite a bit on Sunday.

I'll be honest in the fact that this is one of the toughest games to call of the whole year. The Ravens look like the team of destiny, but the 49ers look like they are a team that can overcome anything, just as we saw last weekend in Atlanta. I really love the offense that the 49ers are running right now, and while I think that Baltimore will contain them to some extent, I just think that San Francisco will be able to outscore the Ravens when all is said and done. It'll be a tight one though, and I'm going to go with a field goal win for the Niners', resulting in a cover of the +3.5 for the Ravens.

Prediction: San Francisco 49ers- 24 Baltimore Ravens- 27
